
First lady Michelle Obama presented Surdna grantee Global Action Project with the 2010 National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Award in an October 20 ceremony at the White House. Chosen from a pool of more than 400 nominations and 50 finalists, G.A.P. was one of 15 programs to receive the 2010 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program, the highest honor such programs can receive in the United States.
Global Action Project's mission is to work with young people most affected by injustice to build the knowledge, tools, and relationships needed to create media for community power, cultural expression, and political change.
