Alexandria PratherSenior Program Associate, Strong Local Economies – With Surdna since October 2014

Alexandria serves as the Senior Program Associate of Strong Local Economies at the Surdna Foundation. Prior to Surdna, Alexandria worked in Washington, DC at the Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution. There she worked in development, focusing on grant writing and worked closely with the Vice President of the Metropolitan Program. Before working at Brookings, Alexandria served as a congressional intern for House Leader Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Andre Carson. While in graduate school, Alexandria was a graduate intern at the White House Office of Management and Budget.

Alexandria received her Bachelor’s degree in International Studies, with a focus on Latin America, and Spanish from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She received her Master of Public Policy, with a concentration in advanced quantitative analysis, from American University in Washington, DC in 2013.
